Welcome to Andhra Loyola College

Message from the Principal

“Examinations are not just tests of knowledge, but reflections of integrity, effort, and character.”

At Andhra Loyola College, our Examination Branch embodies the core Jesuit values of fairness, transparency, and academic excellence. Every assessment is conducted with utmost responsibility, ensuring that students are evaluated with honesty, objectivity, and care.

The Branch has grown into a strong support system for our academic life—streamlined, student-centric, and committed to maintaining high standards. I appreciate the dedicated service of the Controller of Examinations and the entire team for their disciplined, value-based work. Together, let us continue to uphold the dignity of our examination processes and strengthen the trust that defines our institution.

Brief History of the Examination Branch

The Examination Branch of Andhra Loyola College has grown steadily along with the institution’s academic journey. In the early decades (1953–1987), the college conducted internal assessments while major examinations were governed by its parent universities. During this period, the college was affiliated to Andhra University till December 1976 and to Acharya Nagarjuna University till 2010, and thereafter it is affiliated to Krishna University which monitored curriculum, examination standards, and the awarding of degrees.

With the grant of Autonomous Status on 24.10.1987 and functioning as an autonomous College from the Academic Year 1988-89, the college established a full-fledged Controller of Examinations (COE) Office, marking the beginning of an independent, structured, and student-centred examination system. Autonomy enabled the institution to design its own syllabi, frame regulations, and conduct examinations while continuing to remain affiliated to the parent universities for the conferment of degrees.

Our Vision

The vision reflects the commitment to holistic education, emphasizing academic excellence, social responsibility, and value-based leadership. It aims to produce individuals who excel in their fields and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our Mission

The mission of forming students as "men and women for others" captures the Jesuit ethos, focusing on Competence, Conscience, and Compassionate Commitment. It also highlights a preferential option for marginalized communities, reflecting inclusivity and social justice.

Message from the Controller of Examinations

"Examinations are not just tests of knowledge, but gateways to learning, growth, and the future - Assessment is a journey of growth where effort meets integrity and learning transforms into achievement.”

At Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous), Vijayawada, our examination system is designed to uphold the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and academic integrity. As an autonomous institution, we follow a structured framework of Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and Semester End Examinations (SEE), ensuring that students are evaluated holistically and consistently. The Examination Branch is committed to leveraging technology, refining processes, and maintaining absolute confidentiality in all examination-related activities. Every step—from question paper preparation to result declaration—is carried out with precision, accountability, and respect for the student community. Our mission is simple yet profound: to create an examination environment that is just, efficient, student-friendly, and reflective of ALC’s Jesuit values of excellence, service, and integrity.

I extend my sincere appreciation to all Vice-Principals, faculty members, staff, and students who collaborate with us in making the assessment process smooth and meaningful. Together, we continue to strengthen a system that not only measures learning but also shapes character.
